NUI Galway

Located at NUIG’s Data Science Institute (DSI), the Insight Centre for Data Analytics is one of the major academic players in research and development of Web, Linked Data, and semantic technologies in the world. NUIG-Insight performs research in Linked Data, Semantic Web, Sensor Network and IoT platforms, Linked Streams, social networks, and Semantic Web Services and applies its research results to solve integration problems in various application-oriented projects in eLearning, eGovernment, eBusiness, and eHealth.

Role: NUIG is i3-MARKET’s coordinator and leads the full action of the project to a good end, assuring that the challenging objectives related to data markets and data economy will be effectively achieved in time and cost. NUIG also takes into his lead the semantic elements that are involved in other work packages.

Siemens AG

Siemens AG (headquartered in Berlin and Munich) is a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering. Operating in the fields of automation, electrification and digitalization, Siemens holds leading market positions in all its business areas. Role: SIEMENS is responsible for the technical project management, ensuring that the overall technical work will be well-coordinated, coherent and progressing according to the overall project timeline. Besides, SIEMENS leads the overall i3-MARKET architecture specification towards a complete and scalable system architecture that guides the technical development.


Atos

Atos is a global leader in digital transformation with approximately 100,000 employees in 72 countries. As European leader in Big Data, Cybersecurity, High-Performance Computing and Digital Workplace, the Group provides Cloud services, Infrastructure & Data Management, Business & Platform solutions. With its cutting-edge technologies, digital expertise and industry knowledge, Atos supports the digital transformation of its clients across various business sectors: Defense, Financial Services, Health, Manufacturing, Media, Energy & Utilities, Public sector, Retail, Telecommunications and Transportation.

Role: Atos provides the architectures for i3-MARKET based on its big data system design experience. Atos brings the AGORA marketplace as a result of the activities performed in the H2020 AUTOMAT and CROSS-CPP projects and will use its knowledge and experience from implementing the AGORA marketplace to adapt it to i3-MARKET.


IDEMIA

As our physical and digital, civil and commercial lifestyles converge, IDEMIA stands precisely at that crossroads to leverage the best in security and identity technologies and offer customized solutions to a wide range of international clients from key industries, including Financial services, Telecom, Identity, Security and IoT. The IDEMIA team is made up of 14,000 employees.

Role: IDEMIA leads the contributions for building the specification of i3-MARKET highlighting Security. Further, IDEAMIA proposes the standards for end2end security and leads IAM implementation.


AUEB

AUEB is the third-oldest University in Greece and the oldest one in the general fields of Economics and Business. AUEB is an institution which provides education both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level mainly in the fields of Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Management and Technology, Informatics, and Statistics. Further to its academic excellence, during the last ten years, the Athens University of Economics and Business has put significant emphasis and effort in promoting, encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation within its wider academic community.

Role: AUEB provides information and support on all the legal considerations that apply to the project (suitable contractual terms, GDPR compliance, etc.) The aim is to identify legal pitfalls and at the same time examine potential business models that can address them.


UPC

UPC is a public institution dedicated to higher education and research, specialised in the fields of architecture, engineering and technology. It is one of the biggest universities in Spain, with over 32.000 students, 33 departments and 205 research groups (the academic year 2015-2016). UPC’s mission is to create knowledge, innovate, develop technology and make this technology available to society. The UPC partnership will be led by the Information Security Group (ISG), a research and innovation group that is a part of the Department of Network Engineering at UPC. ISG’s activity spans the fields of authentication and authorization, digital rights management, privacy and security in smart city, and smart contracts and distributed applications.

Role: UPC leads the specification and implementation of the smart contracts, as well as the specification of the Backplane API and its deployment. UPC’s focus is to guarantee security and end-users’ privacy and the proper operation of the smart contracts.


European DIGITAL SME Alliance

DIGITAL SME is the first and largest European association of the ICT sector exclusively focused on representing the interests of SMEs. With its 30 member associations, DIGITAL SME represents more than 20,000 digital companies across Europe. The Brussels-based Alliance is a registered interest representative in the EU and aims to put digital SMEs at the centre of the EU agenda. DIGITAL SME develops positions on behalf of its members and contributes to policy discussions on a European level. It promotes the interests and positions of digital SMEs focusing on seven policy priorities: digitalisation, ICT standards, digital skills, cybersecurity & data protection, intellectual property, future technologies & Artificial Intelligence.

Role: As communications lead of the i3-MARKET project, DIGITAL SME is responsible for the communications and dissemination strategy, coordinates and implements the content on the i3-MARKET website, organises dissemination events, produces newsletters and dissemination materials, and manages i3-MARKETs activities in the social media.

Guardtime AS

Guardtime AS is a system engineering company, engaged in R&D in hash-based cryptography. Guardtime’s core technology – KSI blockchain technology – enables its customers to know and be able to forensically prove whether any part of their systems or stored electronic data and logs have been changed. Guardtime has a team of 200 cryptographers, developers and security architects, with decades of experience defending networks from nation-state attack. Guardtime is also providing anti-tamper hardware for accessing the KSI. Blockchain technology stack. Additionally, Guardtime is offering cyber range and training services in cooperation with NATO cyber defence range, providing state of the art technology for building modular environment or cyber exercises.

Role: Guardtime is responsible for specifying data provider APIs to deliver data on the marketplace(s) and ensure data integrity and data provenance.


IBM Research

IBM Research – Zurich is one of IBM’s 12 research centres around the globe. This network of some 3000 scientists is one of the largest industrial IT research organizations in the world. The Zurich laboratory is home to world-class scientists; Cutting-edge research and outstanding scientific achievements—most notably two Nobel Prizes—are associated with this lab. Across three departments – Science and Technology; Cloud and Computing Infrastructure; and Cognitive Computing and Industry Solutions –  the spectrum of research in Zurich range from exploratory research in nanoscience and –technology and quantum computing for future computing, to cloud and computing infrastructure, security and privacy, computational sciences, Blockchain, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

Role: IBM is responsible for producing technical specification in order to define the industrial pilots implementation and realisation. Besides, IBM will develop smart contract interfaces for the Elderly Care use case with the necessary security toolsets and will design secure connectivity components according to the IBM Data Lake experience.


Siemens SRL Romania

SIEMENS SRL Romania is a world leader in complex infrastructures solutions and an active provider of sustainable green technologies. Siemens Corporate Technology (CT) develops hardware and software systems and solutions, and a broad range of services for the entire field of information and communication technologies. SIEMENS CT Romania is a Romanian branch of these activities. Current research capacity and expertise of the department in Brasov (acting inside Siemens SRL, Romanian house company of Siemens) encompasses fields like Data Analytics and Monitoring, Constraint-Based Configurations and Schedulers, Complex Event Processing, Remote Diagnostics Systems, Data Acquisition Architectures and Future Internet Technologies

Role: SIEMENS SRL Romania leads the Industrial Manufacturing pilot and will validate it with its own industry grade solution. Besides, it leads the API design and the implementation towards supporting the pilots and contributes to the specifications for data monetisation model using cryptocurrencies.


GFT Italia

GFT Italy serves as a strategic information technology partner, which helps companies to optimize their business processes with intelligent and innovative IT solutions and highly skilled specialists and to transform cutting-edge technological developments into future-proof business models. GFT Italy belongs to a multinational Group whose operating division GFT Solution is among the world’s leading IT service providers in the finance sector. Striving to always improve technological expertise, innovative strength and premium quality for more than 25 years, the GFT group operates from 34 offices in twelve countries with about 5.000 employees.

Role: GFT leads the implementation of a Wallet for the micro-payment approach, ensuring security. Besides, GFT will contribute to the definition of the data access API specification and SDK implementation.


HOP ubiquitous

HOPU is a SME established in Spain. HOPU is focused on research and development of networks protocols, IoT management, IoT security and IoT solutions. HOPU is specialized in applying their IoT management, security and networking protocols over an IoT platform called Homard (https://homard.hopu.eu). Homard is being used and integrated for final customers by companies such as Fujitsu (RunMyProcess), FIWARE and Microsoft (Azure IoT Suite). HOPU promotes the integration of IoT as a key enabler of the digitization of production processes, with a special focus on easy to deploy (commissioning / bootstrapping), security and remote maintenance (device management).

Role: HOPU will contribute to Data Assets Monetisation based on Crypto-Currency, where it will implement the wallet for micro-payment based on the provided specifications. Besides, HopU will support the implementation of the i3-MARKET backplane and its operational components.


UNPARALLEL

UNPARALLEL is a Portuguese technological SME that develops digital technologies and provides consulting services on digitisation with a strong foundation in research. The company was founded in 2012 by two engineers/researchers and presently employs 14 individuals (12 men; 2 women). UNPARALLEL develops new products ranging from hardware devices, software/web solutions, or mobile applications, and provides high-value consulting services on technology development, strategic insights, market intelligence, etc. Main target markets include the Internet of Things, Industrial IoT, Smart Cities, Smart Water Management, SmartFactories/Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Mobile Apps.

Role: UNPARALLEL leads the state-of-the-art analysis and alignment with related projects in order to build a comprehensive analysis of platforms and Marketplaces.


Telesto Technologies

Telesto provides state-of-the art solutions in the area of Internet-of-Things (IoT), for Smart Cities and Citizen Engagement, Smart Metering, ITS, Smart Agriculture and Safety and Security for Critical Infrastructures and Maritime industry. Fields of applications include sustainable urban environment & city resource management, digital city services, emergency response, customer loyalty and analytics, fixed and mobile assets management, etc.. Telesto is recognized among the innovation leaders in Smart Cities, especially in Greece

Role: Telesto contributes to the design, specification, and implementation of the smart contracts solutions, and supports the deployment, realisation and validation of the three pilots.
