European DIGITAL SME Alliance

European DIGITAL SME Alliance (DIGITAL SME) is the first and largest European association of the ICT sector exclusively focused on representing the interests of SMEs. The Brussels-based Alliance is the joint effort of 30 national and regional SME associations from EU member states and neighbouring countries. With its member associations, DIGITAL SME represents more than 20.000 enterprises across Europe. DIGITAL SME is a registered interest representative in the EU.

Most of the SMEs that the European DIGITAL SME Alliance represents are the so-called “SME digital enablers”, i.e. those that transfer technologies and offer a range of services to other SMEs in order to enable the digitisation in other sectors.

DIGITAL SME develops positions on behalf of its members and contributes to policy discussions on a European level. It promotes the interests and positions of digital SMEs focusing on seven policy priorities:

  • Digitalisation,
  • ICT standards,
  • Digital skills,
  • Cybersecurity& data protection,
  • Intellectual property,
  • Future technologies
  • Artificial Intelligence
